Steven Erikson mentioned (when he said he no longer remembers some things he wrote) someone who writes music to his poems (the ones that are at the beginnings of books and chapters). It seemed vaguely familiar and when I looked I found I listen to some of those songs before. Kit Soden has also composed a tribute to Coltaine

Adventures in SciFi Publishing did an interview with Steven Erikson. He sounds a little weird because he's just coming out of laryngitis but it's still great. This might shake my conviction he is really a writing robot sent from the future, but then, I've heard he already finished his next book so he might be just having a speakerbox malfunction. It seems I have a wedding to attend to. The important one I wouldn't want to miss. The perfect reason to go home and see everyone I miss so much.

A propos last post. Here are two interviews with Steven Erikson. One was conducted by Pat of Pat's Fantasy Hotlist the other was a Holiday gift for the folks at malazanempire. He is so nice to fans. I'm once again depressed that I won't meet him in person this year.

Winter truly came to Poland. We have minus temperatures even during the day and it snowed yesterday. Not much of a snow but it is white outside. Temperatures is expected to drop even lower to - double digits on Friday night ( Read more... )

I just learned there are videos of Steven Erikson reading parts of Toll the Hounds, poems from upcoming (2.07.2009) Dust of Dreams (which will apparently, unlike other books, end in cliffhanger) and answering questions about the books.
I especially like how he admits having lost control of timeline.
